Introducing Skyline Driver: Jessejames Taylor
Congratulations to professional driver Jessejames Taylor, another successful graduate of Skyline’s CDL Training Program.
Jessejames Taylor spent his early years in New York, but moved to Clinton, TN when he was 13. When he grew burned out on factory work, Jesse started looking for a new career.
“I was in the same old-same old (factory job). My step-dad has been a driver for 30 years and he’s hinted at me driving for years. I finally decided to give it a shot.”
Jesse knew a few people who had started our paid CDL training program and his step-dad had heard only good things about Skyline from other drivers. Jesse says he learned a lot in the training program.
“Coming in as somebody who knew nothing about (trucking), they break you in slowly and don’t throw it all at you at once. I’ve gone from not knowing anything to being able to back up decently. I guess that means the program does what it’s supposed to do.”
Jesse appreciated the fact that Skyline pays students to learn versus them dishing out money. He credits his trainers, director Michael Garrabrant and OTR trainer Eric Alvarez, with his confidence but admits he’s a little nervous as he readies for his first solo trip.
“How can you not be, but I’m ready for it. Skyline’s training program is not rushed and it gives you plenty of time to learn. I’m ready”
When Jessejames isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with family. While he’s driving over the road, he enjoys listening to music, books on tape and podcasts.
